Lightweight Layers for Breezy Spring
Spring isn't just the time for nature to rejuvenate; it's also our time to refresh our wardrobes! You’ve probably gone through the obligatory Spring cleaning, and if you haven’t yet, I have the easy, “get it done in a weekend”guide. But once you’ve freed up space, we need to determine for what and nothing should take priority over a go-to Spring jacket.
Before finding a jacket that is right for you, I want you to consider your lifestyle. Maybe you need this jacket to go from work to drinks, or from errands to school activities. You may also want to consider where you live. Spring is very different in Miami than it is San Francisco. Take these things into consideration when choosing the right jacket.
The art of the Spring jacket is striking the right balance between fashion and functionality. A jacket that is comfortable and yet stylish, warm but also lightweight, striking but also versatile. You might be thinking, does that jacket even exist? Well of course it does! It’s just not the same for everyone, but I have five options for you to pick from.

Denim is the ideal material to keep you warm and it is lightweight. It is sturdy enough to repel those late April cold winds, but breezy enough to be worn in the warmer weeks of May. Of course denim is by no means new, but it always manages to be trendy. Especially as the cowgirl trend really settles into 2024 with a new elegant look, thanks to Beyonce, denim can even be the city girls go to jacket. (P.S. Belted Blazer
Boxier blazers have been making a comeback for about a year now, but at this point I am excited about the belted looks. The belt brings a feminine touch I really love and makes it perfect for Spring. This is the ideal choice if you need a jacket that can double for work. Just pair it with jeans and loafers and you’ll look like the most elegant Parisian women.
Leather Bomber Jacket
We always have to have something leather, don’t we? Yes, even in Spring. The leather bomber jacket though keeps it more casual in a sporty look. But you could also style it to be edgy or avant-garde. This is the perfect Spring jacket for any of you who just don’t love the clothing options of Spring.
Bouclé Jacket
The bouclé jacket can feel anything but modern, but somehow it’s become the it girl go-to jacket for Spring 2024. What for a while was your grandma’s style, with a tailors help can become the jacket you throw on over everything. Fit is essential, but so is the color. The Scandinavian girls really got this going and it may be the perfect go to jacket for the boho women among us. The quilted look makes the jacket look entirely one of a kind and the best ones you’ll find are one of a kind. I think this is a perfect Spring jacket for anyone who suffers the cold a bit more than others as it does run a little warmer than the rest. It’s like having a super stylish blanket on you at all times.
We’re finally able to go outside and not freeze to death, but don’t make the mistake of not taking a jacket. We’re just not there yet. Instead pick from one of these 2024 updated Spring options.
