New Year’s Eve Outfits for Every Event

New Year’s Eve is a polarizing night: you’re either overwhelmed with anticipation or think it’s the most anti-climatic night of the year. But I think it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the year that has passed and start the new year on a positive note. That doesn’t mean you need to go to the coolest club in town, I know I won’t. I’d much rather have dinner with my close friends and spend the evening chatting and sipping on wine.

You could stay in with your family and have a cozy night, you could host an elegant dinner with your friends, or you could actually hit the town. Or perhaps better yet, you could escape to a warm destination and ring in the new year on the beach like I will this year.

Regardless of how you choose to spend the last evening of 2023, I have some outfit inspiration for every event. And don’t leave it to the last moment, I know you have a million things on your to-do list, but I bet none of them are about you. Prioritize yourself, grab a glass of wine, and start planning your NYE outfit!

Staying In

For those of us enjoying a cozy night in, comfort is the name of the game. Pairing a silk skirt with a cozy sweater is the trick to still look elegant. When it comes to accessories, there is no need to go overboard since you’ll be home anyway.

Elegant Dinner Party

An elegant dinner party calls for an elegant dress. This may have been the year of Barbie pink, but silver has definitely given it a run for its money. You can never go wrong with silver on New Year’s Eve.

Summer Escape

If you’re running away to warmer weather for New Year’s, I don’t blame you one bit (I will be celebrating in Mexico!) Second of all, this is an opportunity to wear a short dress. Do as Brazilians do and wear white to ring in the new year. Pair it with some summery heels you won’t be wearing for another few months.

Night Out

Obviously, a night out is all about looking fabulous, but since it will be a long night, you also want to be comfortable. A two-piece blazer set does just that. You’ll be warm and comfortable without losing any of the glitz and glam.

If you’re going out of the house don’t forget to throw on a thick coat on top, no one needs to start the new year freezing! I know we’re still a while away from New Year’s Eve, but I can’t wait to see all of your New Year’s Eve outfits! (Post them on Instagram and tag me @lilihenry)
