How To Express Yourself Through Your Wardrobe

Expressing yourself through your wardrobe is a wonderful way to showcase your personality, style, and individuality.

First and foremost, you need to identify your personal style. If you are not sure about it, take my FREE Style Quiz, and I will show you your primary personal style. I will send you tips and tricks to guide you as you explore and define your personal style.

If you already know your style or you got your primary personal style result, look for inspiration in fashion magazines, social media platforms like Pinterest or Instagram, and even in movies or art. Identify the colors, patterns, and clothing items that resonate with you the most.

Then, you can experiment with what you identified you liked in your inspirations. Don't be afraid to try new styles and experiment with different outfits. Mix and match clothing pieces to create unique combinations that reflect your mood and personality. Colors and patterns can be a powerful way to express yourself.

I fell in love with these pants! Something unexpected that I decided to try on and kept. You never know!

Learning your best colors can also be a powerful tool. Using my 4 season color analysis method is also a great way to discover the colors that work best for you. If you are in or near San Francisco, join me for my Color Analysis parties, or you can learn my method in under an hour and discover your colors from home!

If you have cultural roots or heritage that are important to you, explore incorporating elements of that culture into your outfits. Same for hobbies! Consider incorporating them into your wardrobe. For example, if you love music, wear band t-shirts or music-inspired accessories. I remember one of my clients really loved her band t-shirts but was also looking to get out of the rut of jeans/ tee shirt/ sneakers. I showed her how to incorporate her favorite tee shirts with some elevated pieces so she looked more put together.

Once you have experimented with different looks, colors, and patterns, and have found what is really working for you - make it your signature style! By wearing “your touch” people will remember you for that specific piece, accessories, ensemble… and a signature you will have! A signature style can be something as little as a certain style of earrings or a scarf attached to your everyday purse—all of that to say that it does not have to be big.

But at the end of the day, fashion is about having fun with your clothes and wearing what feels right to you. It's a continuous process of refining your style and allowing it to evolve as you do. My style was definitely different 10 years ago and will most likely change later in my life... And I am totally ok with that!

So, my friend, embrace the uniqueness that makes you who you are, and let your wardrobe be a canvas for expressing your true self.

Voilà!

Bises,

Lili
