Four Incredible Women. Four Signature Styles.

I’ve always believed clothes are never just clothes. I wouldn’t be an image consultant otherwise. They’re part of who you are and how you present yourself. Over time, they can become your signature, how people remember you, the energy you’re associated with, the way you’re recognized before you even say a word. Think Taylor Swift red lipstick, Anna Wintour’s bob, or Audrey Hepburn’s oversized black sunglasses.

For Women’s History Month, I wanted to highlight four women with very distinct style languages and create a mini wardrobe for each of them. Not to copy them, but to capture the essence of what makes their image so clear and inspire you to curate one for yourself.

I’m linking each mini wardrobe so you can shop the essence quickly  without going down a 47-tab rabbit hole.

Princess Diana (1961–1997)

Modern icon, effortless presence.

Diana mastered that rare balance: polished but approachable, elevated but never stiff. Her looks were clean, confident, and always wearable, even though she was a Princess. She understood the power of simple tailoring, great proportions, and pieces that move with you (not against you). She wasn’t afraid to show her more athletic side or to wear casual and formal clothing in one look.

Mini wardrobe: sharp blazer, crisp shirt, straight-leg jeans, tailored coat, slingbacks, structured bag.

Iris Apfel (1921–2024)

Maximalist legend, unapologetically original.

Iris wasn’t “well dressed” by society’s standards but she was instantly recognizable. Her style was a world of its own: bold color, oversized shapes, unexpected mixes, and accessories that didn’t whisper. What made it work wasn’t randomness, it was commitment. She repeated her signatures (glasses, jewelry, volume) until they became her. She didn’t disappear behind the colors, prints, and shapes, she shined through.

Mini wardrobe: oversized coat, bold printed jacket, wide-leg pants, tunic dress, statement glasses, stacked bangles, chunky necklace, statement flats.

Sara Blakely (1971– )

Founder energy: Fun, feminine but strong.

Sara’s style is modern “boss” without feeling corporate. She’s a beautiful success story worth noting, especially because she’s stayed true to her joyful persona as you can see through her style and image. It can be bright, whimsical in a way that reads optimistic, but still sharp. She doesn’t wear the typical female entrepreneur uniform: blazer, white tee shirt and jeans. She leans into clean silhouettes that fit perfectly, a heel that changes your posture, and statement details that keep it current.

Mini wardrobe: colored blazer, sleek jumpsuit, sheath playful dress, pussy bow blouse, pointed heels, statement earrings.

Emma Grede (1982– )

The very current CEO, she’s part of the moment.

Associated with brands like SKIMS and very much “in the know” companies, her wardrobe is sharp, current, and fashion-forward, always anchored by one strong detail (design, texture, color or print) that makes the look feel intentional. She reflects “the it-look”.

Mini wardrobe: strong blazer, tailored trousers, crisp tee or shirt, a statement coat, sleek boots, structured tote, sculptural jewelry, confident sexy pieces.

I hope these women give you some inspiration!

Bisous!
Lili
